Welcome to the Frith Moot page
Hail Folks!
Announcing the third annual Southwest Frith Moot being held, this year, in the Kaibab National Forest of Arizona just outside of Flagstaff, AZ. We are hoping to once again make this a great heathen community building event for the general south west and surrounding regions.
This is an open event for anyone form anywhere that wishes to attend (not just the south west) and meat more Asatru or Heathen folks in our community and those that just want to learn more about being Heathen in general.
There will be many individual heathens and independent kindreds in attendance as well as members from several of the national organizations, like the Asatru Alliance, the Troth and Asatru Folk Assembly.
This is a free event to attend. This event is not being financially sponsored by any national organizations. This event is being hosted by the Wanderer Kindred and Wolf Pack of Arizona for the purpose of building a better regional heathen community. The event is being supported by the Asatru Alliance and The Troth through web site postings and public community support. Hopefully other organizations will follow suite and let communities and members in their areas know what we are doing as well.
So here is the low down:
As this is a community event, those attending should sign up for a work shift during the camp out. Pitching in keeps the event running smoothly and comfortable for everyone. This is also a good Frith Building exercise that will help you to get to know your fellow Heathens. Most people will likely end up on a general clean up crew to keep the site clean and trash under control. We are looking for specific sets of skills and willingness for First Aid, Set up and Tear down, Children's Activities, and Viking Games Assistants as well.
The date for this year's event is set for July 20th, 21st and 22nd (that is Friday, Saturday and Sunday). The Frith Moot site is at the Spring Valley Cabin and Bunkhouse just outside of Flagstaff, Arizona. This site is an ex-Forerst Service Cabin so there will be bathrooms and showers as well as electricity and a kitchen.
We will have several seminars, classes, demonstrations, round table discussions, children's games, and adult activities scheduled that you can read through on the event page, as well as a guest musician from Iceland.
If you have anything you would like to give a presentation on or host a discussion about please let us know ASAP so we can schedule it.
Detailed directions to the site.
The location will be available for attendies at 2:00pm on Friday the 20th.
If you are planning to attend would you please go to the Registration portion of this website and fill out the signup page and submit it. The information will be kept confidential and removed after the event. It is only for us to try to better plan to make this as welcoming an event as we can. The more we know about how many adults and kids we have the better we can plan seminars and games. Also this information is very important for meeting special needs of some of the folks in the community that may have allergies or health issues that might need to be addressed in case of accident or emergency. We like to be prepared.
